Conner is 5 years old!!

I can't believe my little buddy is FIVE!!  He will start kindergarten this fall.  He has been so excited to turn five.  It is his coming of age birthday in his mind because he will be 5 and not 4 anymore!!  Hopefully it will be all he expects and more!

Conner is a feisty, busy character.  He can keep up and pass up many of the big kids and will usually outlast all of us in anything.  I love that he will occasionally slow down enough to come give me a random hug and say he loves me.  He will also come snuggle with me almost every morning before we get up and going.

His birthday we told him he could plan his whole day....whatever he wanted to do.  So he slept in till about 10am and then we got ready and headed to McDonald's for a little lunch and some playing on the toys.  Then his original plan was to go to the splash pad but the clouds and sprinkling of rain kept us away.  So we went and picked out ice cream for later that night and headed home.  I was surprised he didn't want to go anywhere.  When Cameron finally got home from work Conner opened his presents.  He had been dying to open them all day.   He then decided he wanted to go to Del Taco for dinner!  (Seriously...my kids have not figured out what a good restaurant is!  Whatever...it was his choice.)  Then we headed home and had some cake and ice cream.  He had received a cake mix for his birthday from the primary so that is what he wanted.  Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Bob helped us celebrate.  Overall, it was a fun, easy going day.
