Of all the luck...
As if our family hasn't been in the hospital enough...Chloe was admitted yesterday. She has had just a slight fever for the last couple of days so I took her into the Dr.'s office yesterday and they did a bunch of labs including a lumbar puncture. (OUCH!!) Her little body definitely is fighting some sort of infection, so far it looks viral, the Dr. felt that she needed to be admitted just for observation and until the culture results all came back. If all goes well and it is just a virus then supposedly she will only have to stay 24 hours. We will see.

I had some pictures done last Thursday and Mckenzie H. has posted a few on her blog. I think the baby ones turned out very cute! Check them out or wait and see them when I get them and put them on my blog. This is the same gal who took our family pictures in 2008 (the one of the kids at the top of the blog with the red door.)

The first week...

We have survived the first week of having twins home!! They are such good girls that it really hasn't been bad. It has just been a lot of feeding, pumping and diaper changing. Holy cow, you go through diapers fast when there are two of them!! If anyone has coupons they are not using for diapers please save them for me!!! The kids have done pretty well with the babies. Cassidy loves to hold them and the boys just do their own thing pretty much. Although they have all gotten little attitudes lately and I'm not sure if it is the ages or if it is for attention or what, but I am about sick of it!
We went to the doctors office on the 9th of Feb. for our follow up and Dr. Barhorst said they looked good, but they have not put on any weight since they were discharged. So she told me to fortify the bottles to 24 calories instead of the 22 calories that we were doing. She also set up a home health nurse to come in for the next 3 weeks to check their weights and give thme their synagis shot (helps protect from RSV) the first part of March! Hooray! That means I don't have to haul them back to the office for a month!! I'm nervous enough about the germs my kids have, let alone the germs of strangers and their sick kids!

First...

We did not tell the kids the twins were coming home just in case something happened and they wouldn't be able to. It was so fun to see their faces!
First time the boys saw the twins.
First time Cassidy saw the twins. She was so excited! (Don't judge me by her hair, it was crazy hair day!)
First time being loaded up in their carseats! They look so small in them!

Notice anything missing!?!? That is right, they are tube and wire free!! We did a amateur photo shoot on friday before we all left the hospital. Yes, we all left!! The girls are home and we are so happy!
Wednesday the light clicked on and they went from eating just over 1/2 of their feedings to eating practically everything...enough that the doctors felt comfortable sending them home. Our lovely nurse called and asked if we wanted to bring them home that day or on Saturday, of course I said, "today!!" We waited for the boys to get home from school and bee-lined them to Grandma's and off Cameron and I went to get the girls!
They have done wonderfully! They are very good babies, with the exception of all the noises they make while they sleep! I have been super paranoid, it is different having a preemie! I feel like all I do is laundry, wash bottles, feed babies, and tell the big kids to wash their hands....I wouldn't have it any other way! I love having everyone under one roof!

I was encouraged to take a break from going to the hospital for one night so we had a family game night at moms. We took the Wii and we played Mario Kart and Guitar Hero. It was fun and gave me a much needed break. Lucky we did it because it might be one of the last for a little while.
