Temple Square

We decided for Cate's birthday (not that she cared) we would go to Temple Square and see the lights.

Now, that is a group!
Now, I know this post will sound negative, but oh well.

Waiting for the train.
Conner being....Conner!

I thought this was a pretty good shot for a complete camera idiot.

Cate's birthday was on a Monday so we ran Cassidy and Corbin to piano lessons.  Aunt Candace was suppose to meet up with us and we were going to grab dinner and go to SLC.  Well, Candace had a bad day so she bailed on us while the kids were in piano lessons.  Cameron and I decided we would still give it a go even though we knew we would have our hands full.  Luckily I didn't see Candace for the next couple days or I probably would have given her an ear full!

We went to Javiers for dinner which was the best part of the night!  We were the only ones in the restaurant so I didn't stress about everything, at least not as much.  I love Mexican food!  The kids were great and I thought, "This is fine, we'll be fine."  I jinxed us, I guess.

We headed to Salt Lake.  We have never rode on Trax or anything so we thought it might be fun for the kids to ride the train since it was free in Salt Lake.  Cameron thought that the spot we were getting on at would be a straight shot to Temple Square.  It was not!  We had to switch trains, kind of a pain.  Everyone kept looking at us or so I felt.  The 2 crazy adults with a ton of kids in tow.  We made it to Temple Square.  It was pretty cold, but everyone was dressed warm so no problem there.

The twins and Cate of course wanted nothing to do with the stroller so they were either screaming while in the stroller or me stressing while they walked around.  Temple Square was of course very crowded.  Cassidy and Corbin were pretty good to help walk with the twins.  Conner was....Conner.  I have to get after him to pay attention and stay close almost as much as I have to tell the twins.  The kid has no fear of getting lost and just bops around without a care in the world.
Trying to keep Cate entertained while we waited in line in the visitors center to see the Christus.

After about an hour we decided we had came, we saw and it was time to get the heck out!  We did our 2 trains back to the car and made the short 1 block walk back to the car (felt like 5 miles)!  We made it!  I will not be going back till I have bigger kids, unless it is a date with Cameron and NO KIDS!

To try and salvage the night we stopped for hot chocolate!  Hot chocolate did help.  The big kids were good sports and said it was "pretty fun."

Maybe the problem with the night was just me...I had this vision in my head that we would go and see beautiful Temple Square and walk out feeling full of Christmas spirit and spiritually fed.  Seriously what was I thinking?  We have pretty young kids and a lot of them!  Temple Square was beautiful.  I always love seeing the Christus.  We made it out with everyone...I guess I should be considering this a success!

So there you have it.  We survived Temple Square.  6 kids, 2 stressed adults, pretty lights, 2 train rides, hot chocolate and we got a "pretty fun" out of it.  Phew.

Photo Session with the Twins...

Caylee

Caylee in purple romper and Chloe in pink romper. I'm surprised Caylee put it on, she usually has to have pink!

Photo Session...Cate

What most of the session was like!

Cate got this elephant for her first Christmas and she LOVES it.  She has to be holding it to suck her thumb!

Giving up.

Must be a twin thing!?!

I came home from work and found these two munchkins asleep in my bed like this!  How in the world can they sleep like this?  I can barely handle being touched when I am trying to sleep, let alone having someone be on top of me!  These girls make me smile.

Halloween 2012

Halloween this year was pretty good.  The twins and Cate had colds, but were in pretty good spirits.  The kids were able to wear their costumes to school and have class parties.  I was able to go and help with Cassidys.  Once the big kids got home we all got ready and headed into town to do the business trick or treat.  The first stop on our list was a little sewing store that always gives out t-shirts.  The kids love to get them and wear them all the time.
Cassidy and I made the twins and her costume.  We had a lot of fun doing this.  It was the first time we have made someones costume.  They are suppose to be cute girlie scarecrows.  The twins love the skirts!  They are such girlie girls!
Conner was so excited to have his hair painted black and his face painted!  I think this might have been the first time we have painted faces!  Just lazy I guess...and nobody has cared enough to ask for it.
Corbin was stoked to have a mask and gloves.  (He ended up taking the mask and gloves off about 5 minutes into trick or treating.  :))  He was so bugged he couldn't wear the mask and gloves to school for the Halloween party that he refused to wear his costume, but ended up putting on a vampire costume we had at the last minute.

Out and about at the business' trick or treat.  I bought this wagon this year and it is the best thing ever.  How have I had this many kids and never had one?!?

Cate.  Such a trooper.  She was really starting to not feel so hot.

We went to most of the business' then headed to Grandpa Russells, Grandma Russells, and the Grandpa Bob and Grandma Cathys.  By the time we got to Grandma Cathy's, Caylee was the only baby awake so we had a quick visit and then I took the babies home and bathed them and put them to bed.  Cameron took the big kids around and did more trick or treating.  They got quite the haul.

On a side note....look what we saw!  I don't know why we get so excited about this every time.  We see them a lot!  Right off of the sidewalk in town, smack dab in the middle of the business trick or treat were 2 deer standing!  I am surprised they were there, it was pretty loud and kids running up and down the sidewalk.
We have seen tons of deer the last month.  I hope I have tree's left after this winter.  Isn't it a little early for them to be down so much?

Snow Day!

It does not happen very often, but we had a snow day from school!  The canyon had been closed because of an accident in the morning for a couple of hours so since a lot of the teachers couldn't get up to the school, they called a SNOW DAY!!  I think I was just as excited as the kids.  No homework, everyone slept in, and more hands on deck to help keep the twins entertained!  The kids got up and headed outside first thing!  It was the first time for the twins!  They were nervous at first, but ended up having a fun time.  Corbin made paths for them through the snow because the twins were having such a hard time walking in it.  He is such a sweet heart!
Fun in the snow, hot chocolate, and just hanging out with nothing pressing to do!  Love days like today!

Black Island Farms

We were able to meet up with some friends from my work at Black Island Farms.  The kids had a great time!  They were able to pick out their very own pumpkin, play in a corn box (sandbox full of dried corn kernels), go down humongous slides, get pulled behind a tractor and just run around.  It was a great day and perfect weather!  We were so glad we were able to go!  I absolutely love fall!  Love the crisp air, jacket/sweatshirt weather, the colors and decorations!  It ends way to quick.

In the pumpkin patch...

 Going for a ride!

Chloe enjoyed the corn box more then anybody!  She loved burying Cassidy's feet, her own feet, even her head!  Funny girl!

An especially cute pic of Caylee!

Our ride out to the pumpkin patch.

At the top of the slide!  Cate was not a big fan, the twins tolerated it.

Corbin playing peek a boo with Cate.  He is so sweet to his little sisters!
