Now, that is a group!
Waiting for the train.
Conner being....Conner!
I thought this was a pretty good shot for a complete camera idiot.
Cate's birthday was on a Monday so we ran Cassidy and Corbin to piano lessons. Aunt Candace was suppose to meet up with us and we were going to grab dinner and go to SLC. Well, Candace had a bad day so she bailed on us while the kids were in piano lessons. Cameron and I decided we would still give it a go even though we knew we would have our hands full. Luckily I didn't see Candace for the next couple days or I probably would have given her an ear full!
We went to Javiers for dinner which was the best part of the night! We were the only ones in the restaurant so I didn't stress about everything, at least not as much. I love Mexican food! The kids were great and I thought, "This is fine, we'll be fine." I jinxed us, I guess.
We headed to Salt Lake. We have never rode on Trax or anything so we thought it might be fun for the kids to ride the train since it was free in Salt Lake. Cameron thought that the spot we were getting on at would be a straight shot to Temple Square. It was not! We had to switch trains, kind of a pain. Everyone kept looking at us or so I felt. The 2 crazy adults with a ton of kids in tow. We made it to Temple Square. It was pretty cold, but everyone was dressed warm so no problem there.
The twins and Cate of course wanted nothing to do with the stroller so they were either screaming while in the stroller or me stressing while they walked around. Temple Square was of course very crowded. Cassidy and Corbin were pretty good to help walk with the twins. Conner was....Conner. I have to get after him to pay attention and stay close almost as much as I have to tell the twins. The kid has no fear of getting lost and just bops around without a care in the world.
Trying to keep Cate entertained while we waited in line in the visitors center to see the Christus.
After about an hour we decided we had came, we saw and it was time to get the heck out! We did our 2 trains back to the car and made the short 1 block walk back to the car (felt like 5 miles)! We made it! I will not be going back till I have bigger kids, unless it is a date with Cameron and NO KIDS!
To try and salvage the night we stopped for hot chocolate! Hot chocolate did help. The big kids were good sports and said it was "pretty fun."
Maybe the problem with the night was just me...I had this vision in my head that we would go and see beautiful Temple Square and walk out feeling full of Christmas spirit and spiritually fed. Seriously what was I thinking? We have pretty young kids and a lot of them! Temple Square was beautiful. I always love seeing the Christus. We made it out with everyone...I guess I should be considering this a success!
